Hi, I’m Aimee. I’m a writer, journalist, facilitator, and the creative director of the Unruly Writers Club.

I’m currently available for hosting, moderating and lectures.

I believe in the power of bringing diverse perspectives into conversation.

I love the rush of live radio and events.

Accessibility is at the heart of everything I do.

Hosting

Moderating

I’m currently CBC Montreal’s City Columnist, which lets me talk to people doing interesting things in unexpected ways. I love it! I also moderate live events and broadcasts such as The Walrus Talks Inclusion and the PostScript panel on disability literature. On air for CBC radio’s Day 6, I’ve brought underrepresented issues to the fore through relatable storytelling.

Producing

I pair the right voices with new audiences. With The Walrus, I co-produced the digital event Poetry for the Moment, a reading and in-depth conversation on current affairs. It has been nominated for the Canadian Online Publishing Awards! I focus on incorporating new perspectives not only into content but in the way we produce. I believe this supports connection and keeps content relevant.

Arts Facilitating

Noticing a gap between outlets seeking diverse voices and spaces for emerging writers to hone their craft, I began hosting writing workshops like the Our Futures workshops at ELAN. Building on this, I launched the Unruly Writers Club with Metonymy Press to support the creative work of disabled queer and trans writers of diverse races. Every two weeks I facilitate with writing prompts and am the mama bear of dedicated writing time.

Whatever it is, we all have a story.
